The new generation of communications capabilities — voice mail, email,
remote access, faxing, and
Internet connections — are rapidly joining the common telephone as basic
elements of doing business.
Responding to your customer in their chosen mode of communication is now a necessity
of modern
business — much like effective planning, returned phone calls, and quality
products and services.
Until recently, only large corporations had enough money and technical expertise
to make it all
work effectively. Small and medium businesses were left to fend for themselves.
Bringing together voice and data capabilities through an assortment of individual
products had
been a headache for small and medium companies. Separate products needed to be
evaluated,
separate equipment needed to be purchased, and separate monthly fees were required
for
separate phone lines dedicated to separate functions.
The Praxon Phone Data eXchange brings together all of the communications functions
you need!
The Praxon Phone Data eXchange is a scalable, modular, communications platform
that
combines Voice PBX features with a full complement of data networking, messaging,
and
Internet features.

PRACTICAL OFFICE NETWORKING
• Voice Mail ensures accurate and reliable voice messaging without
requiring busy administrative staff to convey the information.
Available on a 24x7 basis, voice mail also allows callers to describe their
message in full detail, complete with vocal inflections and similar cues.
• Auto Attendant capabilities present a standard, professional company
greeting, reducing the need for a full-time receptionist. This feature also
supports touch-tone menus of departments, extensions, and other
information, such as office hours and directions to your facility.
• A PBX offers call management capabilities, (such as forwarding,
transferring and conferencing ), and maximizes the efficient use of a
single telephone number for both voice and fax calls, thus eliminating
the need for exclusive, dedicated lines and the recurring costs that go
with them.
• LAN Hubs enable employees to share peripherals, such as printers
and scanners. This strategy is also an effective cost reduction mechanism
since the need for duplicate peripherals declines.
• An Intranet Home Page gives employees simple, browser-based
access to common documents such as schedules, purchase orders,
expense report forms, etc. In addition, groups of people can use this
capability to share work.
• Multimedia Mailboxes provide unified voice and data messages
from your email in-box, eliminating the need to check multiple sites for
different types of messages.
Integrated Business Communications, an important segment of the voice-and-data
convergence marketplace, helps small and
medium companies level the playing field against large competitors by increasing
the customers’ ability to access and
communicate with your company. The Praxon PDX delivers all of the necessary communications
features while also saving money.
• An inhouse Email server offers your company a number of
advantages, including support for your own “dot-com“ address,
(domain name), as opposed to using the domain name of an outside
service provider. Internal email can be sent to staffers without routing
them through an outside source, thereby enhancing speed and
efficiency. Also, personalized names (aliases) can be added to the
system, distribution lists can be developed to send messages to an
entire group of people with minimal effort, and rules, such as the
largest allowable file download, can be set internally, based on your
company’s own requirements.
• Remote Access allows staff members to retrieve or send messages,
files, and other data from their homes, hotel rooms, or virtually
anyplace with telephone access.
• Internet Access provides connectivity to the wealth of information
available on the World Wide Web and other Internet resources using
a single line for all users within a company.
• A Modular design promotes the scalability of your communications
system to grow with you, both in terms of staff size and technology
selection. Use of a chassis with corresponding modules enables you to
” mix-and-match” the Phone Data eXchanges' capabilities to best suit
your needs while preserving the option to add new technologies
in the future.
